Dr. Megan Dunbar is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and has been working in Northern Virginia since September of 2008. She received her doctoral degree from the American School of Professional Psychology in Arlington, VA and has experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of disorders in children, adolescents, and adults.

Dr. Megan Dunbar is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and has been working in Northern Virginia since September of 2008. She received her doctoral degree from the American School of Professional Psychology in Arlington, VA and has experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of disorders in children, adolescents, and adults.
In her work with children, Dr. Dunbar utilizes various Gestalt-Based play therapy techniques. She is able to seamlessly integrate creative play with a relational therapy approach in order to help children improve upon developmental weaknesses and build upon their natural strengths. Dr. Dunbar places emphasis on helping parents gain skills that are critical to healthy development in their children, advocating for their child's educational best interest, reducing problematic behaviors, and coping effectively with family relational difficulties.
Dr. Dunbar provides supportive and solution-focused therapies to individuals, couples, and family therapies from a systems approach, helping individuals recognize patterns in their thoughts, feelings, behaviors which have developed over the course of their various individual experiences. She strives to create a safe and comfortable environment where patients can share their thoughts, feelings, struggles, successes, hopes, and fears. Dr. Dunbar also provides biofeedback training to patients who are interested in gaining more control over their physiological responses to stress and anxiety in order to improve general health and wellness.
Dr. Dunbar is now working in the group practice of Associate Clinical Services, which has been servicing the residents of Northern Virginia for over 20 years. She is committed to providing quality mental health services within Fairfax County.
